Jennea Abell is a child and adolescent therapist at CBT Denver.

Jennea Abell, LPC is an Affiliate Therapist at Cognitive Behavior Therapy Associates of Denver. Jennea specializes in evidence-based psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and young adults. Jennea treats individuals with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, life changes, and chronic illness/disabilities.

Jennea uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in working with clients. She is certified in EDMR as well. Jennea uses a person-centered approach to therapy and treats every client with empathy, unconditional positive regard, and respect. Through her experience in sociology, she approaches counseling through an intersectional lens.

Jennea earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She completed her graduate internship and post-graduate experience working with children, adolescents and adults. Prior to joining CBT Denver Jennea worked with clients with eating disorders in an inpatient/residential facility, children and adolescents in a school setting, and in a private practice with diverse individuals in low-income areas, including those who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. 

Jennea is a fifth-generation Coloradan, who was raised in Littleton, CO. She is a self-proclaimed huge nerd who loves to write novels and play video games. Every year she participate in National Novel Writing Month where she writes a 50,000-word novel in one month.
